The London Beer City festival rolls in to town from 9th – 16th August for a week-long, city-wide festival that aims to celebrate London’s beer renaissance, and Brixton’s two burgeoning brewies, London Beer Lab and Brixton Brewery will be getting involved by showcasing their wares at different events in Brixton.
London Beer Lab (the brewers responsible for producing our very own Brixton Buzz Beer) will be hosting their event, #taste25 from 7pm on Thursday 14th August at their brewery in the railway arches on Nursery Road.
Co-founder Karl Durand-O’ Connor told us ” We’re going to sample 25 different beers brewed in London across a range of styles and breweries. There will be beer from our Brixton based London Beer Lab and Brixton Brewery along with some of the established players such as Beavertown and Kernel Brewery, as well as recent additions such as Gipsy Hill Brewery, Bear Hug Brewing and Clarkshaws.
The price is £20 per person which includes the tasting (approximately 50 ml samples) and £10 to spend in our bottle shop – we currently sell bottles from 24 breweries and have over 100 beers available. The event is for over 18s only and identification essential. Tickets available from our website. “
Meanwhile Brixton Brewery are taking over The Effra Social on the same evening to showcase their range of locally produced beers from their brewery in the railway arches of Brixton Station Road.
The event starts at 6pm and Brixton’s beer lovers will have the chance to meet the brewers, sample their beer and match it with dishes from the Effra Social’s chef.
There will be lots of other events at various pubs, bars and breweries across London hosting mini-festivals, tap takeovers, dinners and tours.
